March 17, 2006, Newsletter Issue #126: Eat Fresh Fruit

Tip of the Week

Good nutrition helps retard the appearance of aging. Many diets are too high in calories, therefore, the first step toward good nutrition is to reduce the number of calories you eat by at least 25 percent. Next, add fresh fruits and vegetables, green leafy and yellow types, those rich in vitamin A. Vitamins C and E are also essential, providing antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. Eat whole grains such as oats, wheat, whole rice and rye rather than white processed flour-containing products. Above all, avoid the synthetic trans-fats like margarine and hydrogenated shortening products. And donīt forget-take your supplements. Your body and your skin will thank you!
